Destination Wedding in Hotel Riu Palace Guanacaste
Reuben & Nevin planned their wedding ceremony at the Hotel Riu Palace Guanacaste Costa Rica. Quite unusual because on the roof of the hotel with a view of the mountains.Â
First lookÂ
Nevin was preparing in the room with her bridesmaids. Before the wedding ceremony began, we were witnesses of the first look. Due to the very short time, we decided to do it in the alley between the hotel buildings surrounded by palm trees. Here, too, we took several portrait photos and then ran to the ceremony.Â
Wedding traditions
Due to the fact that Reuben has Polish roots (I am also from Poland :), there were several Polish accents during their wedding at Riu Palace Costa Rica. At the end of the ceremony:Â Jumping the broom that is a time-honored wedding tradition in which the bride and groom jump over a broom during the ceremony. The act symbolizes a new beginning and a sweeping away of the past, and can also signify the joining of two families or offer a respectful nod to family ancestors.
After the ceremony there was a toast and we had time for family portraits. After a while, everyone went to the wedding reception.Â
The newlyweds had a beautiful entrance surrounded by all the guests who were holding sparklers. During the wedding reception we could see another Polish wedding traditions (only a few of them still apply), such as putting a wreath on the bride's head, handing bread or putting a huge hat on the head of the groom. Later the first dances took place and then the guests could join the fun!
